Ok, I'll post something

Let's see what's going on with us...
We're trying to buy a house. That's a pretty big thing. It's a long shot, but we're trying to stay optimistic. It's a pre-foreclosure, and only about 18% of those close. We'll keep everyone updated on that. The house we like is in the same neighborhood as our old apartment, and the school is the same school that I first started working with kids. (Anderson Elementary). It's right down the street from the house. There is also an awesome park three houses down. It's a 4 bed, 2 bath, 1600 sq feet house that needs a lot of cosmetic work. The bedrooms have true hardwood floors that are beat up, but can be refinished. Basically it has a ton of potential. we'll see, we'll see. I'm trying not to get too excited, or want the house too much so that i'm not soo disappointed if we don't get it.
Kids: Auggie reads at the kinder-level already. His handwriting is pretty rough, i think because he just doesn't take the time to write. He loves rhyming words, and will point them out whenever they happen in conversation or on tv. he tries to write them down on paper because he wants to make a book of all the rhyming words that exist. He's excited to go to kindergarten too. I think he's just bored with hanging out with his mom all day & misses school.
Hayden: drives me nuts. So nothing new there. He's been potty training, and has been pretty successful lately. he uses it as an excuse to stall on eating dinner, going to bed, or pretty much anything he doesn't want to do. He's been into bugs lately and likes to find rollie-polis and smash them, either with his hands or a shovel. Poor bugs...they don't know whats coming..
Sammy: is huge! She is weird and doesn't like fruits. this is the first time that i have met a baby who doesn't like sweets. She'll eat those gerber puffs, which are sweet, but i think she just likes to feed herself (hhmmmm.... sounds like hayden...), and doesn't care too much on taste. She doesn't roll or crawl yet, but sits really well and for long periods of time by herself. Her favorite thing to do when it's close to nap time is to lay on her back, grab both her feet, try to shove them both in her mouth as she rolls side to side & sings. She's such a happy & giggly little girl! Even more than Hayden was!
Justin: yea Google! that's all I got to say there....
Me: busy busy. I'm going to school FT, raising three kids....oh what else. a ton of family members are expecting babies....My cousin Jenifer is expecting #2, a GIRL! (woo-hoo, not many of those in the family), Justin's cousin is expecting #2, but she's really early and doesn't know what it is. My friend, Elizabeth is expecting #1, and doesn't know what it is on purpose! crazy girl, I can't do that. I'm horrible at Christmas too... Another childhood friend, Gayle, is expecting #1, a boy, in the next few weeks.... and another friend, Kristen, is expecting #1, another boy, in a few months. She's actually repeating what justin & i did with Auggie.... livin at home with parents, got preggers before the wedding, even though the wedding had been planned for months. She's going to be like 5 or 6 months preggers on her wedding day (march 15th). I was almost 7 months on our wedding day (april 27, 2003). eh, it only LOOKS like a shotgun wedding...
I'm also leading a charity even this April. I'm leading the Cambrian Las Madres playgroup in walking 6 miles to raise $$ for March of Dimes, an organization committed to discovering the causes of preterm labor and preventing it from happening. A few friends and family members have experienced this, some with happy endings, and some without. Sammy was almost a preemie (though i doubt she would ever have been "small"), as I went into preterm labor at 34 weeks. Luckily they were able to stop it with medications and bed rest. I still think it was caused by my job & not having enough teachers in my classroom.
Speaking of job: man, do i miss work. I miss the friends and the great families. I loved watching the babies grow up and watching their personalities develop. I still think about a few kids that really touched my heart, either by their sweetness or their mischievousness. I would love to be able to go back to work with them, but with the google take-over I think it would be extremely hard to get hired there again, they are very picky. Oh well. that always seems to happen with me. I leave a job and then things change that make the job easier, more fun, or more practical. Just my luck I suppose...

well, I really should be focusing on this lecture, not creating a blog! I hope to get some new pictures up next week, but I make NO promises....
